KILLED BY A FAIL Off EARTH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargil], Last Night. John and Neil Maloney were working in a gravel pit at Myross Bush to-day, when a subsidence occurred, killing John and severely injuring his brother. The deceased was aged 21. ACCIDENTAL DEATH. Hastings, Thursday. At the enquiry into the death of James ■Symes, who was killed by a fall of earth on the borough drainage works,: a verdict of accidental death was returned.
A SCALDING ACCIDENT. Timaru, Last Night. Bruce Paterson, the three-year-old son of the Albury stationmaster, was severely scalded by tripping and sitting in a pail of boiling water in which caustic soda had been dissolved. He was removed to the private hospital at Fairlie.
