Another lifebuoy fell within Brady's leach, but he made no attempt to get it. lie appeared to have struck his head on something just, before his would-be rescuers could reach him. The body sank. Some coal and benzine tins had been stored amidships, .ami it was suggested that perhaps Brady tripped on these. He had had some drink, but was said not to be under 51 s influence. A verdict, of accidental drowning was returned.
