Mary Fuller ami Marc McDermott, wiio is an especially popular actor villi local audiences. Tim story concerns American "graft," and is inter-e-ting right through. Another splendid film is "The Detective's Conscience." Bui Carl'v pthl his sister Nell, children of ail old family of moonshiners, think it perfectly right to run a still, but the sheriff of the county informs the Revenue Department, and Delemer Campbell, an officer, is sent out to assist the sheriff in raiding the place. Campbell, to get evidence, makes himself acquainted with Carter, and in so doing visits the place and falls in love witli Xell. This is discovered bv Bud. and at the suggestion of a gun Campbell is forced to marry Nell. The officer, however, goes on with' the job. and. with the sheriff, closes up the still, abandons his wife, and sends Carter to gaol. Two years pass, and Campbell is driven cra/.v with remorse, and. being unable to resist, he gives up his position in (he department and goes back to his wife. Carter is released from gaol, and the two men meet. A tragedy is averted only by Nell introducing their baby as a peacemaker. A CJaumont (Iraphic, and some excellent scenics, including glimpses of Constantinople and a trip to "Bermudas, figure in the programme.
