Lady Maurice Fitzgerald, chairwoman of the Wexford Board of Guardians, states that 257 summonses have been issued for non-compliance with the Insurance Act. She declares that the Act is unsuitable to the conditions of Irish agriculture.
THE CHURCH IN WALES. London, December 5. Mr. McKenna announced that the King's Message placed at the disposal of the House of Commons during the consideration of Welsh disestablishment the Royal interest in bishoprics and other benefices in Wales. THE DISESTABLISHMENT BILL. Received 6, 11.25 p.m. London, December 0. On the first clause of the Disestablishment Bill, fixing the operation for July 1 after the passing of the Act. the churchmen fought hard to defer its operation for two years. The Government agreed to six months. The guillotine lopped four pages of amendments, and clause 2 passed undiscussed.
