THE HOME, RULE BILL. FEMALE SUFFRAGE REJECTED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, November 5. Mr. Philip Snbwden moved that votes should be given to the women of Ireland on the basis of the Local Government register. Mr. Redmond urged.that it had better be left to the Irish Parliament. Messrs. Balfour and Ramsay MaeDonald supported the amendment. Mr. Asquith replied that there was no precedent for conferring the franchise on women in connection with the grant of self-government to the Dominions, and he re-echoed Mr. Redmond's opinion. The amendment was defeated by 314 to 14L Received 6, 9.30 p.m. London, November 6. The Home Rule Bill was further considered. Clause 10, re money Bills, was closured, 24 amendments being guillotined.
