The Brooklyn Eagle claims that Dr. Wilson has been elected President. Dr. Woodrow Wilson has carried the State of Minnesota. The Republicans concede that Dr. Wilson has been elected in that State. Mr. Roosevelt carried Chicago. Dr. Woodrow Wilson carried New (York. There has been the heaviest vote in the Presidential election recorded in !he history of the United States. Dr. Wilson voted for himself. Mr. Roosevelt found himself not registered, in t consequence of his inability to leave Chicago at the proper time, owing . to his bullet wound. The Democrats captured New Sork State Senate and Lower House. The returns indicate an overwhelming victory for the Democrats. 'With the Western States incomplete, the electoral votes are: Wilson 2G7, Roosevelt 29, Taft 8. Mr. Roosevelt accepted the result "with entire good humor and contentment. He said that as for the Progres--sive cause, the fate of the leader was of little consequence, but the cause itself must ultimately triumph, for its triumph meant the essential well-being of the I people. Mr. Roosevelt telegraphed congratulating Dr. Wilson. At midnight the results indicated that Dr. Wilson had 300 electoral votes. Arizona adopted the woman's suffrage. DR. WILSON SPEAKS. ASSERTING THE PEOPLE'S RIGHTS. Eectived 6, 11.30 p.m. New York, November 5. Dr. Wilson, replying to "ongratula--tions, said the great cause had tri-, umphed. Every Democrat who was a true progressive, of whatever alliance, must now lend his full force and enthusiasm to the fulfilment of the people's hope, namely, the establishment ■of the people's rights, so that justice and progress might go hand in hand. New York, November <3. The Pennsylvania vote was almost equally diviled between the three candidates, Dr. Wilson leading. Mr. Taft's statement, "Vote for Roosevelt iand the Socialist candidate," is a warning that the propaganda favoring fundamental changes in representative Governments has formidable support. Mr. Taft appeals to the young men of the country to rally to the defence of the constitution, which is now threatened.
