THE MEDITERRANEAN. LORD ROBERTS'S SPEECH. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 27, 5.5 p.m. London, October 26. Mr. L. V. Harcourt, in a speech at Eossandale, said that Britain was determined to rely on her own forces in the Mediterranean, irrespective of alliances or any other understanding. Mr. Runciman, speaking at Elland, said that Lord Roberts's speech attacking Germany was deplorable, pernicious and dangerous. He hoped that if it was resented in Germany, she would know that it was equally resented in England.
