A MILK CASE.
PATENT INFRINGED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Judgment was given by the Chief Justice to-day in tiie cases. George Harrington MacEwan and J. B. MaeEwan and Co., Ltd., against Joseph llopkirk, engineer, of Hawera. Plaintiffs claimed £250 damages for an infringement of patent rights of an apparatus for agitating milk and the like, for eheesemaking. His Honor found that there had been an infringement, and on Saturday last he conducted an enquiry for the purpose of assessing the damages. As the result of the enquiry, judgment was given for plaintiff for £134 18s, with costs on the £3OO scale, £ls 15s, and for. a second day £5 ss'for second counsel, and £7 7s for costs of hearing as to the damages, and witness's expenses and disbursements for both hearings. An order as to the validity of the plaintiti's patent was granted.
