A BOXING ACCIDENT.

At the Pastimes Club Rooms last evening a young man named Harry O'Connor, who had indulged in a sparring bout during the evening, became suddenly giddy. Eventually he became unconscious, and was removed to tlie hospital suffering from slight concussion.

KILLED BY A TRAIN

Dunedin, Last Night. An accident occurred at the Rattray street railway crossing at 5.30 p.m., by which a single man named John Fraser was killed instantly. Asi a train from Central Otago was Hearing the crossing deceased was seen approaching the rails from the direction of the wharf. The bell was ringing and the crossing-keeper had his- flag up. Fraser appeared to hesitate for a moment and then stepped in front of the engine, which struck him with such force as to throw him nearly 30 feet away. When picked up Fraser was dead, his skull having been fractured. Deceased, who was 30 years of and a native of Scotland, was a wharf laborer and resided by .himself. A letter dated 1903, and written from Otiake, signed Robert J. Fraser. presumably his brother, was found at his cottage.
