OMATA. From our Own Correspondent. T!ii> bazaar held in (ho Omata Hail on Thursday last on behalf of the Primitive Methodist Church was a great success. The attendance was large,_ visitors coming from all round the district and from town. The l'uv. Mr. Liddell opened the bazaar and the various stallholders were soon busy disposing of thenwares. In the evening various competitions were held, such as guessing the number of beans in a bottle (won by Mr. Seamark), hat-trimming by gentlemen, nail driving bv ladies (won by Mrs. Smith), wool-winding, etc. The stalls were presided over by the following ladies:—Jellies and salads, "Sirs. Bailey; plain needlework, Mrs. H. Kendall and Miss George; fancy work, Mrs. George and Miss Hooker.: produce, Mesdames Rnmsbottom and Matthews; sweets. Misses K. Georee and Smith; Mrs. Pen* warden and Miss Crocket presided over the afternoon tea and supper taldcs; Miss Loveridsre had charge of the Christ* ~o s tree; Misses Ivy Matthews and :ulh Evan* were kept busy at the bran i mbs. and lit- vs. Liddell and Charteris wre the iu>! at the various competitions. It i> expected that the funds will benefit bv a substantial amount, and very groat credit is due to all coneerned in" the management and their many willing helpers.
