DISTRICT NEWS.
LINCOLN ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent). The recent cold westerly, storm has had its usual detrimental effect on stock, roads and agricultural progress. Hut although the Everett road was in a wretched state, it did not prevent a fair number of settlers and friends of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Bishop braving the elements on Monday night last and giving them a social farewell in their own house on the Everett road. Mr. and Mrs. Bishop were the recipients of useful presents, which showed that they were appreciated by their friends and neighbors. Miss Eva Bishop also received a token of remembrance from her friends.
Our school teacher (Miss Meston) has been granted two months' leave of absence, as she wislves to go to Western Australia.
When will our Dairy Company settle down and have a settled staff? There has been another shuffle of the cards. Mr. Simpson, of the Bristol creamery, has "been transferred to Waitui, Mr. A. Parli having been appointed manager at Bristol road.
