BOWLING
FITZROY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Fitzroy I Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last night, and was of an enthusiastic I character. The president (Ml. W. Mealy) presided. The secretary (Mr. C. T. Mills) of the Taranaki Bowling Association asked the I opinion of the club on the two .following questions:—(l) The adoption of the "open-door" policy at the tournaments; (2) was the club in favor (as suggested) of 20s being the entrance fee 'for each rmk, or, if not, what sum did it suggest? ° The meeting approved of the committee's action in favoring the suggested change, and suggested £1 as an entrance fee. Officers for the ensuing vcar were elected as follows:—President, Air W Ilealy: vice-presidents, Messrs. S. Smith' T D Sole, 0. Oxcnham, F. Jackson. K Dingle and J. C. Morey, sen.; secretarv and treasurer. Mr. W. Whitehead (r& elected); committee, Messrs. Dingle I'onl, Abbott, l.ealand and Chivere- V ection committee. Messrs. Rennell, LeaI nnd. Dingle. Abbott; green warder, Mr b. Smith. No.skips were elected. the annual subscription was fixed as follows: Members £'2 2s. affiliated members and commercial traveller* £1 ] s It was decided that the green be cm pnerl for play on Thursdays and Satur(lavsonly, from September 20 till official opening day on October 31.. On the motion of Mr. Rennell, tie president was accorded a hearty vote ot thanks for his services duriinr the ;>>.<(■. session. The wod work done bv the secretary (Mr. Whitehead) was also eulogised and similarly recognised.
