Rotorua: Play was faet and interesting throughout, for though the visitors had the better of the .game the local men continually attacked. The. Blues' superior knowledge of the finer points enabled them to score from every opportunity, whereas, in similar cases, Rotorua failed. The first spell ended: New South Wales 29, Rotorua 5, and the game, New South Wales 39, Rotorua 13. The winners' score included tries by Garlick (2), Hallaway, Davis, Gleeson, Cann, Thompson, Burge and Norman, who also converted four tries and kicked two penalty goals. Rotorua's score consisted of three tries, two converted. Towards the end of the game, Garlick broke his leg as the result of coming in contact with a player. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. Invercargill, Last Night. An interprovincial match was played to-day _ between Southland and Otago. under ideal conditions. Southland won by three goals to one goal, after a very f nst and evenly contested game. McGregor scored two goals, and Taylor one goal for Southland, and Haig scored for Otago with a high dropping shot.
