CIRCULAR ROAD RACE.
TO-DAY'S RIG FIXTURE. • Considerable interest is being taken in to-day's big cycle gathering not only along the whole of tha route, but throughout the entire Dominion, and, given fine weather, there is certain 10 be a big crowd assembled at the Drill Hall this morning and along the route to cheer the struggling cyclists on their journey. It is at the finishing post that the record gathering can be expected, for at the racecourse a splendid programme has been arranged for the afternoon, commencing at '2 o'clock, which alone is worth more than the modest to be charged for admission, without "the extra excitement of seeing the winners of the cycle race arriving at the conclusion of their long ride. Jf the weather condescends to be reasonable, the finish is certain to be close, and it would not "be surprising to see several finish in a bunch. There i» certain to be a big field, and the limit men will be sent away at 9.15 s>m. Last year the winner, J. Clark, despite ■ most unfavorable weather conditions, cut out the journey in 0 hours 17 min. 54 2-5 sec. This year the distance is a few miles shorter, and the race should probably be done in the same time, go that it should' finish at about from 3.30 p.m. to i p.nt The day's enjoyment will conclude with the presentation of prizes in the Theare Royal in the evening, when a special programme of pictures will be screened.
