Great Britain will officially lodge a formal demand for arbitration in connection with the Panama Canal dispute. GERMANY'S INTERESTS. Received 3, 11.15 p.m. Berlin, September 3. The Frankfurter Zeitung says that all serious German journals are agreed that Germany is no longer directly interested in the Panama Canal. Great Britain, therefore, is not defending Europe's cause but her own treaty. As right is on Britain's side that should suffice. EUROPEAN CRITICISSI RESENTED. Received 3, 11.15 p.m. London, September 3. The Standard's New York correspondent says that European criticisms of the Panama Canal are markedly affecting American sentiment. The Americans ask what right thev have to lecture them when they themselves disregarded treaties.
