Britain, in a Note, intimates that, if necessary, an appeal will be made to the Hague Tribunal. BRITAIN STANDS FTRM. Received 29, 11.15 pjn. London, August 29. The Times' Washington correspondent says that the British Charge d'Affaires is renewing representations on the Canal rates. It declares that these representations will probably be followed by a reasoned protest when the text of the Act is examined jn London. If th« difference is not settled diplomatically Britain will demand arbitration.
