PETROLEUM.
REFINERY PLANT. The question of a. site for the refinery works at Moturoa should be settled very shortly, and meanwhile all plans and specifications for the refinery are being prepared by .Mr. G. S. Millar, the refinery expert. The local directorate was yesterday advised that the first shipment of the refinery plant—rihont 100 tons—was to leave Glasgow on August 1. Mr. W. Hardwick, the analytical chemist who is coming under engagement to the company, will arrive in New Plymouth early in September. An engineer and a boiler-maker are also on their way to New Zealand. MORE BORES TO BE SUNK. The company is erect inc two derricks on its property at Bell Block, preparatory to prospecting for oil. Another derrick will be erected at Moturoa. with a view to sinking a bore by means of the rotary process. Wells No. 3 and No. o are flowing vcrv well, and No. 2 bore is still belli" cleaned out.
