A KIDNAPPING AFFAIR.

FATHER FINED £IOO. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Judgment -was delivered by Judge Cooper in the Supreme Court on Saturday in the case in which Soren Marius Mikkleson was charged with kidnapping his child while she was in the care of the mother. Judge Sim convicted Mikkleson of kidnapping, but postponed sentence to enable the Appeal Court to decide a legal point. Yesterday morning Judge Cooper announced that the Higher Court had upheld Judge Sim's decision. Although the offence was a criminal one, it had to be taken into consideration that Mikklesen was the father of the child and the needs of the case would he met by a heavy fine. A penalty of £IOO would be inflicted.
