FIRES.
A BOAR DI KG -HOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Own Correspoidaat. G'ifcliorne, Last Night. A fire in a boarding-house, owned by P. Hall and occupied by Mrs. Montezina, on Saturday night, completely gutted the premises. Several articles o? furniture wore saved. The building was insured for £350 in the National Office. The furniture was insured in the Norwich Union Office, but the amount is not ascertainable.
A BLAZE IX DUNEDIN. Dunedin, last Night. A two-storey house in Caversham, owned by Tliomas 15. Jeffcoate, was badly damaged by fire this morning. The fire was discovered at 3.30, and the housemaid and owner's son, the only occupants of the dwelling, escaped in their night attire. The house was insured for £9OO, and the furniture for £450, the risks being divided between the Standard, Phoenix and North British companies. Damage was done to the extent of about £-200.
