Lord St. Aldwvn, in a speech, said that the Government might pass the Home Rule and Disestablishment Bills, but he did not think they would dare to advise the King to assent to them. In view of the present trend of public opinion, they might be told that it was their duty to consult the country. The House of Lords, after a brief debate, would reject both measures.
