THE LAND TENURE.
BALLOT AT .NEW PLYMOUTH. The land fever is an epidemic which shows no sign of being oil the wane. At a ballot at the Land Board's office, New Plymouth, yesterday, for eight sections in the Mapara and Tangitu districts, there were no fewer than 208 applicants. For one section there were 74 disappointed applicants, and 55 for another. The successful applicants were as follows.— .Section 12, block 11, Mapara, 317 acres; 0 applicants.—James Price and James Potter, Tokirima'. Section 22, block 11, Mapara, 602 acres; 11 applicants.—Lawrence Coogan, Taumaruiiui. Section 13, block 12, Mapara, 629 acres; 0 applicants—Harry A. Julian, Eitham. Section 14, block 12. Mapara, 411 acres; 1 applicant.—James Courtney, Paihiatua. Section 17, block 1.- Tangitu, 277 (acres; 75 ; applicants.—Robert Addison, I Rangataua.
