FOUND DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Eketahuna, Tuesday. The body of a man named Richardson, who had been missing from Alfredton some weeks, has been found in the Tehoe River.
A CRIPPLE'S SUICIDE. Auckland, Last Night. A laborer named Edward William Ryan, aged 58 years, and living with his wife at Mount Eden, committed suicide to-day by shooting himself with a revolver. For some time past Ryan. who is a cripple, has been unable to follow his employment, and it is stated that he lived on bad terms with his wife. This afternoon Mrs. Ryan visited the Magistrates Court to make preliminary arrangements for applying for a separation order against her husband, and in the meantime he shot himself. A MYSTERIOUS DEATH. Nelson, Last Night. An inquest was held at French Pass to-day touching the death of Rupert Brissenden, a member of the Terra Nova survey party, found drowned on Monday morning, having been missing since Saturday night. The hearing of evidence lasted till late to-night, anil the Coroner, Mr. Evans, returned a verdict that deceased was drowned on Saturday by falling into the water while unconscious, being rendered unconscious either by a fall or by a blow. There was no evidence either as to how he received the injury, or how he got into the water. The evidence showed that the deceased was perfectly sober at th.> time.
