WORK AND WAGES.

THE KAITANGATA STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Saturday. The truckers' strike at Kaitangata was declared off late yesterday afternoon by the men themselves. Mr. Howard, a member of the Federation Executive, arrived yesterday. A lengthy meeting followed, and the outcome was that a deputation was appointed to interview the management and ask if the strikers would be taken back unconditionally. The management refused, adhering to the previous condition that those going back to work must join the Arbitration Union. The meeting then decided to declare the strike ended.
