VARNEY PARKES REFUSES EVIDENCE.

Mr. Varney Parkes declined to attend the Royal Commission appointed to enquire into the allegations against Mr. jpriffith. Mr. Parkers explains that the was appointed to enquire with regard to alleged corrupt practices, whereas his speech in the Assembly laid charges of reckless administration. He was desirous of attending the commission in support of the latter charges.
