NEW PLYMOUTH GAS CO.

ANNUAL MEETING ADJOURNED, The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Ga« Company was held yesterday afternoon. Mr. E. Dockrill (chairman) presided, The directors in their annual report stated that after providing for expenses of management, cost of coal, bad debts 'and interest on debenture capital to Ist [July, 1912, the profits for the year (including the {balance brought forward from the previous year) amounted to £1787 10s lid. This had been allocated as follows: —To payment of a dividend at the rate of 8s 4d, per share on the first issue (fully paid up), 6s 8d per share on the second issue (£4 paid), and fld per share on the third issue (os paid), including the interim dividend paid in February last on three issues, £1541 13s 4d. This left to be carried forward a balance of £245 17s 7d. The retiring directors were Mi'ssrs. A. M. ThomsoH, G. A. Corney, and C. T. Mills, who were eligible and offered themselves for Te-election. Two auditors also have to be apointed by the meeting, in place of Messrs. J. B. McKellar and J. C. Davies, who again offered their services. Owing to a question of proxies cropping up the meeting adjourned, attar considerable discussion, until to-day, without transacting any business of public import.
