The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,830,000, quarters, for the Continent 1,555,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments 172,000 quarters. The total to Europe is 900,000 quarters, including the following shipments: —Argentina 235,000 quarters, Russian 135,000 quarters, Danubian 77,000 quarters, India 158,000 quarters, Australasian 8000 quarters. AMERICAN WHEAT CROP.

The following is the High Commissioner's cable, under date London, August 12, (NoLe: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market price* on •pot):— Mutton.—The market is firm, with an improved demand for beat quality; lightweight carcases are getting very scarce. Prices: Canterbury 3%d to 4%d North Island 3%d to 4d, River Plate 3'/ 2 d to 4d. Lamb. —The market is steady and fair business is doing; .there is a good demand for prime quality; Canterbury 5y 8 d to 63, other than Canterbury 5d to 5%d. >
Beef.—The market is somewhat unsteady; New Zealand .hinds 3%d, fores B%d.
Butter.—The market is quiet and steady, and there is a good demand for heat quality New Zealand, which is being firmly held in second hands; choicest New Zealand lifts, Australian 112s, Daaish 1295, Siberian 108s. Cheese. —The market remains firm; New Zealand wihite 65s fid, colored <Ws fld, Canadian Is less; English eheddar i73s. [ Hemp.—The market is firm at the advance, and there is a better demand for spot; New Zealand good .fair £26 ss; fair £24; fair current Manila £26 ss; forward shipment August-October New Zealand good fair £26, fair grade £24 10s; fair current Manila £26 10s. The output from Manila far the week w»* 25,000 bales. The River Plate shipments rcceivad during July in London were: Mutton, 55,143 carcases, lamb 14,468 carcases; Liverpool, 175,962 carcases and 55,796 carcases; Cardiff, 7997 carcases and nil; Hull, 8000 carcases and nil; Southampton, 8807 carcases and 999 carcases; Newcastle, 2903 carcases and 771 carcases; Plymouth, nil and 597 carcases; Ireland, 197 carcases and 31 carcases.— Total, 259,009 carcases and 72,662 carcases; July, 1911, 230,017 carcases mutton and 68,438 carcases lamb.
