As the result of the recent balloon elimination races, Captain Honeywell, John Watts, and Albert Holtze will act as pilots of the American balloons competing in the Gordon-Bennett race in Germany in the autumn. Among the official results of the speed trials at Aldcrshot the Hauriot monoplane attained a speed of 74.6 miles per hour, a Deperdussin 0.l miles, and a Bleriot monoplane Cl.l miles per hour. A DARING DUCHESS. London. August 11. Grahame-Wliite flew with the Duchess of Westminster in a waterplane off Cowcs. AEROPLANE MAIL SERVICE. New York, August 11. Walter Edwards, with a GO horsepower aeroplane, has established the first aerial mail in the North-West. On a seven-mile flight he carried fifteen lurodred pieces of mail matter in ten minutes.
