STRIKE OF APPRENTICES. London, August 11. Hundreds of engineer apprentices in Glasgow have 6truck for a shilling a week increase, to cover the insurance deductions. A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT. Received 12, 8.55 p.m. Sydney, August 12. A new agreement has been signed by the Storemen'a Union with the Stevedores, Wool Dumping and Lighterage Association, embodying an increase of Ts 6d to 10s for weekly hands, and 4Vid an hour for casual hands. The week's work is fixed at 48 hours from September to March, inclusive, and 44 hours for the balance of the year. Preference is granted to unionists.
