EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. The screening of .the current programme at the Empire Theatre last night was much appreciated by the large audionce present. The intensely brilliant light now being used in projection at Oie Empire 13 generated from the new Uestiiighousc electrical set recently installed, and it adds aroatly to the beauty vhiel, will be scn-p,,,,! for the last timc to-night, 1a full of good things. In bi» dramatic works both the Edison and fcelig companies are represented, and tJiese films are remarkable for treatmerit and motif. Again, Edison, together with die popular American Co. is responsible for three rollicking comedies, and another in this class is by the .V itagraph players, namely. "Lulu's AuI arelnst." This is a very'novel comedy. Its stirring situations throw one from surprise into laughter, and then repeats the process. In the scenic class the waterfalls of the Conlomp Lower Alos revealed many enchanting views in natural color. a.nd-"A Visit'to Senegal," m the French Soudan, gives a glimpse into the manners and customs of the population of this peculiar country. The (laumont Grannie supplied many pictorial cables from abroad, and ''Prom behind the Flasr" introduced clever comedy with the aid of the illusionist's art. Taken throughout this is a capital programme and well worth seeing. An entire change of films will be gi T en tomorrow night.
