-Mr. H. Okey, M.P., has returned from Wellington. A London cablegram announces tho death of ex-Judge Wills. Mr. J. B. Hine has been elected chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the House. Lady Campbell, widow of the late Sir John Logan Capipbell, died on Sunday morning after a short illness, The death is recorded at Nelson of Mr. J. Joins, of Nelson, father of Mr. F. S. Johns, manager of the New Plymouth branch of Messrs. J. H. Cock and 00. Major Shepard, Sergeant-at-Arms, who has been laid aside by illtfess for about a week, went into a private hospital in Wellington yesterday. He has been suffering from a severe attack of neuralgia. The Wanganui Chamber of Commerce yesterday . entertained Messrs. Alfred Burnett and Allan Robinson, who are to represent the Wanganui chamber at the International Congress in Boston next month.
The Rev. J. W. Burton will leave today for Wanganui for a few days, in order to attend a meeting of the committee of the Methodist- Union to go into the adjustment necessitated by the Methodist Union.
Mr. C. Bateson, manager of the Trust and Agency Co. of Australasia. Ltd. who is well known throughout New Zealand, died in Wellington on Saturday evening after an operation. Mr Bateson had been in indifferent health for several years. >

The bride was at • red m deep cream charmeuse satin in the new pannier style, trimmed with rich silk lace and orange blossoms. She wore the orthodox wreath and veil, and car ned a beautiful bouquet of .narcissi and snowdrops made and presented by Miss Stanton. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids Miss C. Quayle, sister of tie bride, and Miss K. Phelan, sister of the bridegroom, tke former wearing corn! flovyer bue *eseda, and the lattera pretty shade of pink and blaek beaver hat, with pink roses. They both carried bouquets of narcissi and violets. Mr E Phelan acted as best man, and Mr.' s' Quayle as groomsman.
