ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A SAD CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Niglit. An inquest was held to-day on Peter Petersen, aged 34, married, whose body was found on Sunday in a waterhole at Meanee. The evidence showed that deceased had been worrying because a section occupied by •him had been sold and he was unable to obtain a renewal of his lease. A verdict of suicide by drowning white in a depressed- mental state was returned. Deceased leaves a wife and five children.
A YOUTH'S DEATH. Gore, Last Night. At the inquest this afternoon as- to the death of David William Hunter, aged 19, -whose body was found on the Croydon road on Friday afternoon with a pea rifle bullet -wound in his head, evidence was given that deceased was and fairly well ofT. A verdict was returned that death was due to a bullet wound in the head, there being ino evidence as to how it was inflicted.
YOUNG MAN'S FATAL FALL. Hamilton, Last Night. Late this afternoon an accident occurred at the water tower 'which the Hamilton Town Board is erecting on the Fran'kton Hill, when a young .man named Neil Kennedy fell from the scaffolding, a distance of some CO or 70 feet. An. ambulance was at once sent to convey the injured man to the Hamilton Hospital. He died shortly afterwards.
TIMARU BURNING t-'ATALTTY. Timaru, Last Night. At the inquest on Ivor Allen Wilson, insurance .canvasser, burned to death in liis house 011 Friday evening bv upsetting a kerosene lamp, evidence was given that he bad been subject to _ fits, and the nature of the burns indicated that he was in a lit at the time.

It is surmised he was struck by the engine. Joseph Drink-water, a wrv oi<l resident oi Woodville, died with painful suddenness on Saturday evening. lie had been working all Saturday <ind waa in Iris usual state of health. After supper at 9 he retired and 15 minutes Inter gave a gasp and was dead. No inquest will be held, as the doctor has certified that death was due to heart disease. The deceased was 7-1 years of aj»e. and was one of the original Woodville small farm settlers, coming to the district 'ls years ago.
