DAIRY PRICES AT PAIIIATUA. Pahiatua, Last Night, j The exceptionally high prices ruling • ' for cheese in the Home markets during the past season have proved highly re- , munerative to the co-operative cheese companies manufacturing in this district.' The annual report of the Mangaramarama Company shows that the amount of cheese manufactured during 1911-12 was approximately 73 tons, valued at £4157 10s Id. The previous season 8S ions were produced, realising £4341 18s Gd. In tlie case of the Mangatainoka Co., last season's output totalled 207 tons, as compared with 101 tons for the previous season. In 1011-I*2 the sum of £11,060 10s was realised, as compared with £7857 Is Id for 190-11. The price paid for ibut-, ter fat was ll%d per lb; last season Is IV-.il per lb was paid.

Ross, who did not appear, 'but whose fatlier testified that he had been wrongly served, as a summons was left at the house instead of personally delivered, also that as notices to attend the camp were wrongly addressed, he sent them 'back through the Post Office, was fined 40s and 10s costs. V,'. Andrew. E. R. Erehh»rn, W. Smith, J. P. Lees, W. I. .T. Boswell and W. Person were fined 30s and 7s costs. 'William C. llealv was fined 10s and 7s costs. Two eases were withdrawn after explanation.

An active newspaper discussion is going on for and against adding fifty feet to the eastern mole as a remedy for such annoyance.
