WORK FOR THE HIGH COMMISSIONER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunodin, Last Night. The Dunedin Expansion League waited on Hon. T. Mackenzie this- afternoon. Mr. Bathgate (chairman) congratulated him, saying it reflected great credit on the Government that it had selected the be«t man for tho po-sition, irrespective of politics. Mr. Mackenzie reviewed the capabilities of the whole province at considerable length. He had hoped to have had h. training college established in Otago, but the negotiations which had been commenced had been broken off for a time. With respect to the fruit industry. he exacted much development. He had had cinematograph views taken of the dairying industry, cattle in pastures, etc., for the purpose of lectures in different parts of England and Scotland.
