MAORIS AND THEIR LANDS.
DEPUTATION TO fill ME MINISTER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Nigkt. ' A deputation representing all the Maori tribes in New Zealand waited on the Prime Minister this afternoon, and extended towards him their .hearty congratulations upon his recent victor}'. They hoped tlutt the Government would not favor one race more than the other, and would see that justice was done. The Hon. AV. 1\ Massey, in reply, expressed diia appreciation of the fact tihat the Maoris had come in person to extend their congratulations. Me assured the deputation that justice would foe done -to the (Maoris. If anv of the land was to be sold, the be-,t market price would l>e paid, and if rent was to lie paid it would be fixed oil an equitable ibasis.
