BROACHING LIQUOR.

HEAVY SENTENCES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Rotorua, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Mr. Dyer invcsigated charges of broaching a cask of whisky consigned to Oruanui, on the Mokai-Putaruru railway. George Brown, storeman, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. On a charge of supplying a Maori with liquor he was fined £25, in default three months' imprisonment current with the previous term. Kahu Mahi was also convicted of stealing rum from a cask, the property of his employer, for whom he was carting. A fine of £lO and £2 15s 9d costs was imposed.
