POLITICAL NOTES.
THE EGMONT SEAT.. The Eltham correspondent of tilt Ilawera Star says that in the event of a by-election for the Egmont seat, thereis a likelihood of the contest boing a. keen one. Messrs. B. Dive, the former member, G. A. Wilkinson, and G. PiWake have stated that they will be candidates, and it is rumored that Mr. W.. T. Jennings, la'o member for Taumaru? nui, will also be a candidate.
