Amongst the measures promised in the Governor's Speech are the reintroduction of the Members' Salary Increase and Parliamentary Privileges Bills. Other measures arc promised, dealing with closer settlement, housing accommodation, early closing, arbitration, education reform, effective regulation of Sunday trading, and construction of railways, particularly for opening wheat areas."
THE ADDRESS-IN-REPLY. Received 24, 12.20 a.m. Sydney, July 23. In the Assembly the debate on the Address-in-Reply was adjourned. Mr. Wade was absent through ill-health. The Council adopted the Address-in-Reply. THE NEW 'FRISCO SERVICE. Sydney, July 23. The Sonoma's steaming time was 18 days 15 hours, constituting a record for the route.
