CAST UP BY THE SEA

AN ECHO OF THE GALE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Received 23, 9.30 p.m. Sydney, July 23.

A quantity of butter in boxes has been washed ashore at Tathra. It is supposed to be from the steamer Bega, which was wrecked some years ago and has been broken up in the late gale. A portion of the side of a vessel, unidentified, has driften into the Manning river. Fears are entertained that it is part of the ketch Candidate, an overdue sailer, -which left Camden Haven on Sunday week with a crew of five.
