The Radio-Telegraphic Conference recommend governments to legislate for the compulsory installation of wireless tchsraphy on certain classes of ships snd the establishment of coast stations with a permanent service adequate to the needs of navigation. The conference adopted revised regulations for the exchange of messages between ships and the shore. The most important decision wa- the pacing of the regulation ordering the provision of an auxiliarv source of power able to work the apparatus for at bast six hours and unaffected by the stoppage of the ship's engines. Qualified operators must be carried on first-class ships on continuous duty: tho c e on scnnd-rlnss vessels, where a permanent watch is impracticable. must listen for the first ten minutes'of everv hour. The next conference will be held' in Washington in 1917.
