Stewart (Australia) was beaten in the second Tound. A SENSATIONAL INCIDENT. Stockholm, July 8. There was a sensational incident in the semi-final of the 400 metres relay race, in which America finished three yards ahead of England, but the team was disqualified because Wilson, in taking a pass from Deloite, overran the mark by a metre. A RECORD ESTABLISHED. Received 9, 12.25 a.m. Stockholm, July 9. At Olympia the 800 metres race was won by Meredith (America) in lmin. 51 9-10 sec., establishing a record. The 1000 metres was won by Colehmainoa (Finland).
