THE GIBSON CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. Hamilton Ross Gibson, who was arrested at Gisborne, pleaded guilty to issuing eight valueless cheques for £lO in cash to business people on June IS. In most cases he paid small accounts and got change and decamped the same day. He was remanded for sentence on bail of £2OO.
ART IN TIMARTJ. Timaru, Last Night. The art gallery movement is making much 'headway. Mr. and Mrs. George Wells gave nine water colors, which cost £3OO, on Friday, and yesterday added three more, at a cost of about £l5O. Subscriptions in aid of the Craigie testimonial, wJiich Mr. Craigie vill devote to the art gallery, now amount to a considerable sum.
