Mr. Haldane, presiding at the German Hospital Dinner, said that the Kaiser was a true leader of the people in educational and social questions, and preserve the peace given bv Germany's splendid fleet, which Great Britain, who knevr about fleets, admired. Germany and England had latterly been much like each other in commercial and other practical activities; hence a certain degree of rivalry. He wanted that rivalry to be stingless. The Kaiser, he knew, shared the same convictions.
