A CANCER CASE.

Dr. Robert Bell, exponent of a system of treating cancer by diet without operation, has been awarded £2OOO damages, also costs, for libel, against the British Medical Association and Dr. E. F. Bashford, principal of the Imperial Cancer Research Institute, for alleging in the British Medical Journal that Dr. Bell was a quack. Many leading doctors gave evidence; most of them disagreed with the Bell system, but thought it worthy of consideration.
