THE MALTA CONFERENCE

THE WHITING ON THE WALL. By Cable—Pre*» Association— Copyrijkt. Berlin, June 14. Krupp's organ, the Neueste Nachrichten, declares that the Malta Conference was a writing on the wall and indicated that if war with Germany deprived England of half her fleet her position in America and remoter parts of the world, as well as in many parts of Europe, would be forfeited. This would be the beginning of the end of her world supremacy. The conference should be a warning to Germany to develop her sea power at all costs and thus obtain her ideal—the balance of power on the high seas.
