ENTENTE OR ALLIANCE
A FRENCH OPINION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 16, 5.5 p.m. Paris, June 16. M. Poincaire, in the Chamber, referring to the press suggestion to transform the entente into an alliance, said that the entente, though not written on parchment, had the support of the majority of both nations. Its strength lay in the present form, and an alliance was unnecessary and a mistake. (Cheers.) The relations with Germany were perfectly friendly.
