PALMERSTON SHOW
TRAIN FACILITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. Mr. Penny, secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, is receiving many responses and expressions of appreciation in connection •with the promise of the Minister for Eailways to put on a special fast stock train for bringing down Auckland and Waikato stud stock for the Palmerston spring show. and a similar train for the Auckland show from this end. Breeders are intimating that they will be glad to avail themselvep of the facilities offered, and there is every indication that the concession will be of great value to the two shows named and to breeders, as well as to the railway revenue, by enhancing the interest of long distance passengers in the shows. The entries closed to-night for the winter show and showed a considerable increase on the previous year's. The totals are: Field roots, seeds and grain, 478; home industries, 228; poultry, (>SO; competitors for the Collinson-Cunning-ham Cup (hunters only), 34; maiden hunters, 31.
