THE WINTER SHOW

TO BE OPENED TO-DAY. GREAT SUCCESS ANTICIPATED. ■ The third annual winter show to "be.', held under the auspices of the Taranaki Agricultural Society will be opened, noon to-day. The show, which will be ; held in the King George Coronation Ag~ ' ricultural Hall, will remain open OH' Thursday, Friday, and (Saturday. During the last few weeks farmers throughout Taranaki have been busy . in the field paying their final attentions to the crops which are to represent theli, abilities, while the housewife and <her daughters have been preparing for exhibitions in the home industries section at 1 the show. Already the interior of the King George Coronation Agriculture! - Hall presents an animated scene, fof exhibitors of trade displays are busy arranging their exhibitions. The haft has been built specially for winter showe,; and the large amount of space avail- ' able will enable the society to show the exhibits to the best of advantage. Large entries have been received In all sections, and it is anticipated thai the show will prove an unqualified success. Keen competition has been aroua- ' ed in butter and cheese classes and f*e- \ tories in all parts of the Dominion will send exhibits. There will be numerous 1 exhibitors of ham and bacon, fruit, gar- * den produce, and general products of the i farm,, while the 'home industries section and the Technical School and Publie School classes will be well filled. 1 "

A comprehensive exhibition will he shown by the Agricultural Department/ while "bees at work," will be a feature of the show which will interest everyone. r •

Pull particulars are advertised. Spe6-, ial tram arrangements have been made to suit the convenience of country vi»ltors, and excursion tickets will be available.

Owing to the unavoidable absence of Hia Excellency the Governor, through indisposition, the show will be opened by the Hons. O. Samuel and T. Kelly, and Mr. H. Okey, M.P. The new hall will he formally opened in the evening by tin Mayor (Mr. G. W. Browne).
