RECIPROCITY
"A NISW ZEALAND LIFEBELT." By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Bydn»y, June 4. Mr. Fisher, in the course of a reference to reciprocity with New Zealand, expressed the hope that young men living in the most democratic country in th# world would embrace the opportunity to lead and guide public thought in Australia in the direction of freedom, justice and peace. The Telegraph, commenting on- this, remarks, "So what Mr. Fisher contemplates is not only fiscal unity, but an ; influx of young New Zealand voters to Australia to teach its benighted denizens how things ought to be done." Dealing with the invitation to Sir Joseph "Ward, after paying him a tribute as a politician, the Telegraphs adds: "We are not even in deep water, much less in such dangerous depths that we need a New Zealand lifebelt thrown into the Tasman for us lest we politically perish."
