GENERAL TELEGRAMS.

AN INDIGNANT FIRE BRIGADE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Wednesday. Members of the City Fire Brigade are very indignant over the appointment of an outsider to the position of superintendent, and point out that the appointment means that instead of three promotions of local men there will now be none. At the meeting of members of the brigade last night, a motion expressing indignation was unanimously passed. They cited the attitude of the Wellington City Council in promoting a member of the brigade as an example which should have been followed by the Dunedin Fire Board.
