Mr. Atherly Jones is convening a meeting of the Liberal members of the House of Commons who are churchmen to discuss a compromise on the disendowment proposals. Mr. J. W. Wilson, heading a group of Non-conformist Liberal Commoners, is urging more liberal terras for the church.

The Bishop of London, in a speech referring to Welsh Disestablishment, said that the attempt to cut out four of the oldest dioceses from the Convocation of Canterbury was a gross impertinence. The question of whether the nation should recognise God was not to be settled by a little corner. Britain's leading Radicals told liim that it was impossible to be very keen about petty larceny.
